Many children who have been abandoned by extended families and community have found hope through Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care (HCOC). Prior to the inception of HCOC, children were malnourished or starving and dying of aids. HCOC has lost only one orphan to AIDS since 2008.
Children are now being fed daily meals at one of three feeding centers adjacent to the schools in addition to receiving extra food supplies at their homesteads when needed.
They are receiving care at the HCOC newly finished clinic, and school fees are paid for orphaned children for primary and secondary schooling.
In addition, many children who completed their secondary education have received tuition assistance for advanced education. These children will be the leaders of tomorrow.
