| We arrived in Harare Sunday afternoon and stayed with Pastor Chigwida and Judy that night. We encountered no road blocks from Beitbridge up here. Going through customs was a challenge but in the end things worked out. I won't go into detail. Monday, we went straight to the school to unload before we began moving around town. While we were unloading the school was informed that the two large containers were to be delivered that day. The first one arrived about 6:30 in the evening and Mr. B refused to break the seal until daylight. So the driver had to remain at the school overnight. Tuesday, just after we began unloading, the second container arrived. It was 3:00 in the afternoon by the time both containers were unloaded. About 60 people from two villages came to assist. Five kgs of rice and five of beans were given to each person that helped and they had to sign the log book when they received it. One Kg is equal to 2.2 lbs. So many people thanked Ralph. They are so grateful for the food. I have video of the seals on the container being broken and then clips of the unloading process. I even have clips of the bales coming off the truck. A large group of the school children gathered around the containers and ourselves and sang a thank you song. They are so happy to have us back and for the shipment of things. God provided sunshine for the unloading and sent the rain that evening. Many things are stacked on the veranda and had to be covered with plastic. Late in the afternoon we loaded our truck and the Orphan Center's truck with one bale of jeans for two schools as well as some of the tables. In addition our truck was loaded with boxes of books. There will be more loads to go but it was getting dark by the time we returned to Nyamashato. Wednesday we spent unpacking and getting settled in. The job isn't totally complete but progress has been made. We came back to Chigwida's Wednesday night and have spent all day today trying to get everything taken care of here. We don't want to have to come back to town more than necessary. Our plan is to return to the school sometime Saturday. If any of you have been on the internet you may have seen warnings put out by the US Government. We know of them and want to assure you that we are ok. We met with an official this afternoon and worked out some details. We also have a source for diesel and so we should be able to begin concentrating on our purpose by next week. Do not worry, just place us in God's care. I can't see that we will have any problems. God is looking out for our welfare as we knew he would. We have security. In His Service, Ralph and Roberta |
